A HANDS ON STUDENT PROJECT

Under the umbrella of MAKE Projects in the EPFL, the EPFL Racing Team is among the biggest scale projects made on campus. For the members of the team, Formula Student is an excellent way to put into practice everything learned in theoretical courses during the many semesters of their university careers. These students are either designing systems from scratch or improving systems tested on previous cars. From software to hardware, each part is made to perform best on track. These single seaters being composed of numerous complex interconnected systems, this project is highly interdisciplinary and brings students from many engineering specialties together. By the end of their experience as part of the EPFL Racing Team, every member gains key practical and theoretical skills through building the engineering marvels that these race cars are!

It is with immense pride that we present Sirius to you. This year, our priority has been reliability and mastery. We focused our efforts on perfecting every aspect of the car while strengthening and optimizing the technologies developed in the previous generation.

Sirius has already shone on the circuits, and we are proud of the results achieved. The team notably won the Battery Sustainability Award at Formula Student Switzerland 2024, a recognition of our commitment to maintaining the same high-performing battery for two consecutive years.

Our car has excelled successfully at the FS Switzerland, FS Czech Republic, FS Germany, and FS France events, demonstrating its potential against the best Formula Student teams.

Although we are already very satisfied with Sirius’ performance, our quest for excellence doesn’t stop there. Every competition is an inspiration to push our limits and refine our car, in order to face future challenges with even greater ambition.
